PAPUA - In a heartfelt demonstration of solidarity, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, carried out a meaningful act of kindness. On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the 501 Task Forces distributed food packages to the residents of Sorry Village, Aifat Selatan District, Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province, as part of their ongoing efforts to foster goodwill and strengthen their relationship with the community.
The initiative, led by Second Lieutenant Irfan from the Sorry Post, wasn’t merely about providing basic necessities; it was an opportunity for the Soldiers to connect with the people they serve. Commander of the 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, emphasized the importance of addressing the community's basic needs while nurturing a sense of belonging and cooperation. Since their deployment in Papua, the Soldiers have dedicated their time to not only ensuring security but also engaging in territorial activities that benefit the surrounding communities.
As part of this effort, the Soldiers welcomed Sorry Village residents to the Post, where conversations flowed, smiles were exchanged, and trust was built. In this warm interaction, the Soldiers distributed food packages with heartfelt care. The residents’ joy and gratitude were evident, with Mama Maria Uamang expressing her appreciation: “Thank you, Commander 501. God bless you.”
The initiative caught the attention of HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, who lauded the efforts of the 501 Task Forces. “This initiative reflects TNI’s unwavering commitment to supporting the well-being of the community, contributing to the acceleration of development in the Papua region, ” he stated. Brigadier General Lucky’s recognition underscores the significance of such acts in uplifting the community and fostering optimism for the future.
Through this act of compassion, the 501 Task Forces have once again proven that their mission extends beyond security. They are not just protectors but partners in community development, ready to lend a hand and strengthen the bonds of unity. The smiles of Sorry Village residents and the Soldiers' dedication are a testament to the power of genuine care and collaboration in shaping a brighter future for Papua.
